About Opus Community Foundation
The Opus Community Foundation is a private 501(c)(3) organization established by Opus Bank on September 30, 2010. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of individuals and families living in or around Opus Bank's service areas, particularly for the least advantaged, by providing financial support to nonprofit organizations that make a positive and meaningful impact in the community. The Opus Community Foundation targets its philanthropic efforts in the areas of affordable housing, community development, education, financial literacy, critical health issues, and the arts. Our goal is to stimulate economic change, promote reinvestment, inspire philanthropy, and strengthen the communities around us. At Opus Bank, we feel a responsibility to give back and are committed to making a social and economic difference in the Western region.

The Opus Community Foundation only funds qualified non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations. Opus Community Foundation does not fund religious, political, fraternal organizations, private foundations or individuals. The organization must be fiscally sound and demonstrate strong administrative discipline and skills. Site visits are typically required before funding decisions are made. An agency, approved for funding, is expected to submit grant impact reports or updates detailing the funded program's status and success metrics. An agency, approved for funding, is not considered automatically for funding the following year. Updated documents, plans and request are required. Preference is given to organizations serving communities where an Opus Bank office is located. Ideally, agencies should serve a large population, usually including people from more than one city or community. Additional consideration is given to proposals that are beneficial and targeted to low- or moderate-income ("LMI") persons or communities. Read more on our Area of Focus page.
